The short version: to send you a free printable and Millie’s newsletter, we ask for your first name and your email address. We use them to send you what you asked for and news about Millie, Rubie, and Sandra’s books. We do not sell your information, we do not run advertising trackers, and every email has an unsubscribe link that works. This site is for adults aged 18 and older. The longer version is below.
This website, sandraparks.com (the “Site”), is the author website of Sandra Parks (“Sandra,” “we,” “us,” “our”), the children’s author of Millie Millsack’s Dream Closet. Sandra is responsible for the personal information described in this policy. This policy covers the Site, Millie’s mailing list, and the free downloads and other features connected to them. It should be read with our Terms of Service.
How to reach us: use the contact form or email [email protected]. For privacy requests, please say “Privacy request” in your message so it reaches the right place.
The Site and the mailing list are for adults: parents, grandparents, guardians, teachers, and librarians. You must be 18 or older to join the mailing list or download anything from the Site. Our sign-up forms require you to confirm that you are 18 or older before they will submit. If you do not confirm it, the form does not submit and nothing you typed is recorded. Children may enjoy the printables, but a grown-up signs up and downloads for them.
We do not ask for your home address, your date of birth, your children’s names or ages, or any payment details in order to sign up.
We collect your name, your email address, what your message is about, and the message itself. We use these to answer you and to keep a record of the conversation. Writing to us does not subscribe you to anything.
We do not currently sell directly on the Site; books are sold through third-party stores. If that changes, we will collect what an order needs (your name, email address and, for anything physical, a shipping address), and payment will be handled by a payment processor. We will never receive or store your full card number.
Our hosting, website, security, and email providers keep ordinary technical information, such as browser type, device type, operating system, referring pages, pages visited, approximate location derived from an IP address, and cookie or similar technology information. This tells us that a page was popular. It does not build a profile of you and it is not used to advertise to you elsewhere.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not rent it, trade it, or give it to anyone for their own marketing.
Our sign-up form tells you plainly, in the line above the button, that signing up gives you the download and also puts you on Sandra’s email list, and it asks you to confirm that you are 18 or older. Submitting the form with those confirmations is your consent to receive our emails, and our record of that consent is the form you used and when you used it.
You can withdraw your consent at any time with one click on the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any email, or by writing to us. We will remove you promptly. Unsubscribing does not affect anything you have already downloaded, and you do not need to give a reason.
Millie’s books and printables are written for children, but this website and mailing list are written for adults. Every form requires you to confirm that you are 18 or older before it will submit, so a visitor who does not confirm it cannot sign up and we collect nothing from them.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. We do not ask children for their names, photographs, or any other details, and we do not direct advertising at children. If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child has given us personal information, tell us through the contact form or by email and we will delete it promptly.
We use third-party services to run the Site and send email. We share information with them only so they can do that work for us:
These providers process information on our behalf and under our instructions, and their own terms and privacy policies may also apply. We do not control every feature or practice of a third-party service. Links on our site to other websites, such as places where you can buy the books, lead to sites we do not control.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not run advertising trackers. We do not use the Meta pixel, Google Analytics, or any other advertising or social-media tracking pixel on this Site. We may disclose information when required by law or legal process, to protect rights and safety, to investigate misuse of the Site, or in connection with a merger, financing, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of assets.
We and our service providers use cookies, tags, and logs for basic site functions, security, remembering preferences, and simple traffic analytics. We do not use cookies or pixels for advertising, retargeting, or cross-site profiling. Your browser settings may allow you to limit cookies, although some parts of the Site, such as the sign-up form, may not work properly as a result. Our emails may use a small image to tell us whether an email was opened; you can stop this by blocking images in your email program.
You may unsubscribe from marketing email at any time using the unsubscribe link in any email. We may still send non-marketing messages when necessary to answer a request you made, address a problem with a download, or deal with legal or security matters. We do not send text messages and we do not ask for your phone number to sign up.
We use reasonable measures designed to protect information, including access controls on the accounts that hold it, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
We keep sign-up information for as long as you remain on the list, and for a reasonable period afterwards so that we can honor your unsubscribe and show that we did. When you ask us to delete your information, we remove your name and email address from our list and contact records, except where we must keep a minimal record to honor your request not to be emailed again, or where the law requires us to keep something. Messages you send us are kept for as long as reasonably needed to respond and to keep a record of the conversation.
Wherever you live, you may contact us to:
Send your request through the contact form or by email to [email protected], and say “Privacy request.” We may need to verify that the request is from you, usually by replying to the email address we hold, and we will respond within 30 days. We will not treat you differently for making a request. We may retain certain information where permitted or required by law, for security, recordkeeping, dispute resolution, or legitimate operational purposes.
Everyone is welcome here. Wherever you live, you may visit the Site, meet Millie and Rubie, and join the mailing list if you are 18 or older.
Your information is held in the United States. This Site is operated from the United States, and information you give us is stored and processed in the United States by the providers listed in Section 7. If you are outside the United States, please understand that United States privacy law differs from the law where you live, and that by giving us your information you are asking us to hold it here.
We honor requests from everyone, everywhere. Whatever country or state you live in — including residents of California, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, and the other states with consumer privacy laws, and residents of the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Canada — you may make any of the requests listed in Section 11, and we will honor them on the same terms as we would for anyone else, without asking you to prove where you live and without requiring you to cite a particular law.
We do not profile you. We do not sell your personal information, we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, we do not use it for targeted advertising, and we do not track your behavior across other websites, as those terms are used in United States state privacy laws and elsewhere. We have not sold or shared personal information in the past twelve months. What we collect is what you typed into a form, plus ordinary traffic figures. We do not respond differently to “Do Not Track” signals, because we do not track you across other sites in the first place.
We may update this policy by posting a revised version on this page and updating the “Last updated” date. If a change materially affects what we do with information you have already given us, we will tell you by email. Your continued use of the Site after an update means the revised policy applies going forward.
The contact form is the fastest way to reach us, and we read everything that comes through it. You can also write to [email protected].
